Every year the Wisconsin Manufacturing & Technology Show comes to Milwaukee. If you have a machine shop, or are involved in the world of CNC machining in any way this show is a must visit. It is the top metalworking and manufacturing show in the entire Midwest, and for good reason.
The 2017 show appears to be even bigger and better than years past, with more of everything. Travel Tips for the WIMTS
The Wisconsin Manufacturing & Technology Show will be held at Wisconsin State Fair Park. Getting there is quite easy, just use the map below to view the location:
Getting to the WIMTS is fairly easy, as you can see it is located near multiple major interstates.
If you are planning on staying overnight and making the WIMTS a 2 (or more) day event, there is an abundance of hotels in the immediate vicinity to choose from. A few of the closer ones would be The Hampton Inn & Suites West, The Best Western Milwaukee West, and the Raddison Milwaukee West. Some of these might be booked up so be sure to check early to ensure you find something nearby and don’t forget to check out my favorite restaurant, Cantina.
If you are an owner of a machine shop, I feel this event is something that is well worth the time and effort to attend. If you want to thrive in this industry, it is crucial to immerse yourself in and embrace the latest technological advancements. I have seen it before and will see it again, where smaller shops that are afraid to step up and make equipment upgrades fall off the grid because they cannot compete on lead times. Not only that, but the parts come out with better finishes now than ever, so customers are choosing to farm out the work to companies that are on the cutting edge and using the latest equipment.
Cool video of some of the things you will see from vendors like Haas Automation, INC.
That’s all there is to it. If you are involved in manufacturing in any capacity this is an awesome vent to attend. If you are interested in sponsorship for this great event, click here.
